Overview
Co-founded SEITA Jiu Jitsu (seita.us), a combat-sports apparel brand built around limited drops, athlete partnerships, and community events. We executed the full go-to-market on a tiny budget by combining a clean DTC website, influencer seeding, fighter sponsorships, paid ads, and email launch campaigns.
What I Owned (Co-founder, Growth + Creative)
1) Website Build (DTC Foundation)
Built the SEITA eCommerce website and launched the storefront experience (mobile-first shopping flow)
Set up product listings/collections and optimized for drop-based merchandising (clear pricing, featured sets, sale badges)
2) Influencer + Athlete Marketing
Sponsored Karate Combat Bantamweight Champion Arturo “Makako” Vergara and produced the announcement rollout (hero creative + brand story slide)
Sponsored two additional fighters to expand reach and credibility
Seeded product to creators, including KennyKim (100k+ followers) who wore our first kit at a seminar and posted it
Built relationships with higher-tier athletes, including contact with a ranked UFC fighter, and sent them gear
3) Email Marketing (Drops + Hype)
Built and delivered drop campaigns focused on scarcity and urgency
Example: Prayer No-Gi Kit email positioned as nearly sold out with a hard cap (15 made), no restocks/reprints, and direct CTA back to the site
Designed and built campaigns in Klaviyo (layout, merch visuals, copy, CTA flow)
4) Paid Ads (Meta)
Launched and managed drop-driven campaigns (Hercules, Prayer) tied directly to website conversion
Used Sales campaigns + boosted posts to drive traffic and purchases
5) Events + Community Activation
Hosted and promoted Open Mat events as brand/community activations
Designed event promo assets with clear details (date/time/location) and sponsor tie-ins
Results Snapshot (from screenshots)
Prayer Sales campaign: 14 website purchases on $308.87 spend
Hercules Sales campaign: 7 website purchases on $170.81 spend
Boosted posts drove measurable traffic:
248 link clicks on $69.76
221 link clicks on $35.16
347 link clicks on $119.36 (these were boosted instagram posts, link clicks were the tracked metric but we were making purchases off this)
